In Grimcoven, as a player, you will be increasing power by accepting Lament from the fallen enemies. While it will add a lot of benefits, it will also corrupt you and have some negative perks.

Renegade Hunter HATES lament and rejects it 100%.

Generally, Hunters use lament and try to balance carefully between being corrupted and having enough power to defeat the evil. But Renegade Hunter hates everything that Lament touches, but he is too weak to fight bosses, so instead, he goes against Hunters.

So one of the corruption cards can trigger him entering the combat and trying to hunt you down, as you are tainted with Lament to some extent – even if you have full control over it and use it to kill the Boss terrorizing the city.
