In this action-assignment area-control game, you play as Ash and his allies, and work together to fight off swarms of Deadites commanded by Evil Ash and Evil Shiela. Upgrade your defenses with modern technology from the trunk of Ash’s car, and stop the Deadites from overtaking the castle.

Each turn, players have a limited time to simultaneously play move, attack, action, and special cards in order to defend the various sections of the castle. After time is up, resolve your chosen cards and play out your programmed actions, rolling dice to attack Deadites. Survive long enough to use the necronomicon to save Sheila, and take down Evil Ash to win the game!

During the game, players roll and collectively choose dice that determine where players can draw tourists and chart routes. This way players have a fair degree of control over the randomness of dice, and can strategize.

Your goal is to create a route with as many tourists and landmarks of different types as possible, because they score you victory points. Before the end of the game, you will be confronted by one of the Old Ones: Cthulhu, Yog-Sothoth, Dagon or Shub-Niggurath. Depending on how well you avoided Horrible places and used special abilities provided by otherworldly creatures, you either gain rewards or lose tourists.

At the end of the game, tourists and attractions in city blocks along your route earn you victory points. You also get victory points for Personal Objectives and Old Ones’ rewards. The player with the most victory points wins the game!

Inspired by one of the primal fears, it places you in an unknown location without any tangible threat except being alone in the dark with only a limited number of matches in your pocket. The only other resource is your common sense, but like the matches, it is in short supply and tends to deplete too fast.

To win, you cannot be too cautious, as all your matches will run out, and soon after, the loss of common sense will leave you stranded in the dark, and unable to move (losing the game). You must take risks and move forward until you find that last door that does not have any room behind it, leading you to freedom.

The gameplay is divided into two modes:
– Playing with a lit match, you can use your cards to perform actions (moving, exploring or searching) or use their more advanced abilities that will use up that card permanently (loss of common sense).
– Playing without a lit match is much worse, as each card played is used up permanently as you slowly lose the ability for stable thought in the dark.

Moon Colony Bloodbath is an engine-building, engine-losing tableau game, with a shared deck the players build that makes things happen, many of them bad things that kill people in your moon colony, but some positive, and some that let you build up.

More specifically, each turn one card is revealed from the shared deck, which starts with four work cards, two trouble cards, and two twists. For work, each player takes an action of their choice simultaneously: mining for money, farming for food, research for cards, build a new building, or restock boxes on buildings. Twists vary from one game to the next. Trouble adds a new event card to the deck: hunger, paperwork, glitches, accidents, leaks, power failure — whatever can go wrong will go wrong, then whenever the deck is shuffled, you can prepare for all those events once again.

Players can add cards to the shared deck, too, whether perks that are only for you or developments that affect all players.

The game lasts until one player’s moon colony has no people remaining, or until the players reach the bottom of the event deck. At that point, the player with the most survivors wins.
