During the game, players invest in new industries, build factories and railroads, and produce goods to saturate local markets and fulfill contracts — all to grow their influence and power and to become rulers of the new modernized country. Players are free to choose their playstyle and winning strategy: They choose what they score victory points for, control the game’s pace with income turns, and race each other to get the most beneficial factories, markets, and bonuses.

All the core mechanisms of the original Nippon are present, but the components, art, and design are upgraded, and many gameplay features are reworked to get the game in line with modern trends. Nippon: Zaibatsu features new resource types, ships are heavily revised with new Iwakura mission rules, factories are much more variable, consolidation turns provide players with new rewards, and much more. Earth’s future is bleak. Despite harnessing the sun’s power and siphoning plasma to advance technologically by leaps and bounds, the world faces an existential-level threat in the Horde. This encroaching alien species has set up a base beneath the surface of Earth’s moon, and these destructive moon bugs are preparing a final invasion to wipe out humanity.

The only thing standing between Earth and oblivion is a beleaguered fighting force known as the Solar Sentinels. Wielding the power of the sun and embarking on a last-ditch assault of the Horde’s lunar base, these brave Sentinels hope a surprise attack might destroy the Horde before it’s too late.

Solar Sentinels is a new property debuting in the 20 Strong game system, featuring a squad of stellar warriors fighting off an alien invasion. Players will select their sentinel and choose each round between one of three face-up opponents. They will deploy units to dispatch their enemies and collect rewards on their way to take down the alien leaders at the source of the invasion.

The Clank! Master Thief Edition brings some visual updates to the beloved deck-building adventure, with new packaging and a refreshed map illustration. The Rage Track, Health Track, and Market have also migrated to their own separate boards (with double thick cardboard and inset squares to hold your cubes better), leaving more real estate for the dungeons themselves on the main board. “Ghost cubes” pose new danger. Some new secret tokens are in the mix too.

But it’s not just about the visual update — there are gameplay changes, as well! Updated endgame mechanics, ghastly Ghosts, and various card adjustments are just a few of the refreshes you can expect to find in this new edition!

The countdown timer from the original Clank! A Deck-Building Adventure is no more. Now, in the Master Thief Editions, the endgame plays out a little differently: When a player escapes the dungeon or is KO’d, they trigger a four-cube dragon attack every time it hits their turn.

Additionally, Ghosts have been added into the mix! These nasty white cubes — which will be familiar to anyone who has played Clank! Catacombs — sit on the spaces of the new Rage Track and are added to the bag when the dragon reaches their tier. Whenever a Ghost cube is drawn, all players take one damage. Ouch!

In the Master Thief Edition of the base game, you’ll find the Wandering Monsters Mini-Expansion, which includes 14 new cards for the Dungeon Deck, and 40 Wandering Monster tokens. These components interact with the colored tunnel monster icons that are now found on all Master Thief Edition maps — slay a monster that matches the color of a Wandering Monster token, and claim its reward! This adds some new variance to your heists — with different tunnels now having different incentives from game to game, you may find yourself taking paths less-traveled!

Explorers from the Path of Unity soon discovered a secluded mountain valley where the enigmatic flora not only survived the impact, but it mutated and evolved by the asteroid’s toxic Neutronium dust. The resulting flower-like crystal formations synthesize a substance called Flux, which is collected and studied by the Harvesters, the valley’s mysterious inhabitants. The Harvesters are willing to share the secrets of the Flux technology with the Paths, but remain silent about its side effects, which only they are immune to…

In the alternate storyline of Fractures of Time, Anachrony’s first major expansion, the four original Paths and the newly formed, sanguine Path of Unity have gained access to a powerful new technology called Flux. Flux Cores can be acquired in the Amethynia Valley, the expansion’s new main zone. By using the Flux Cores to power up their Fracture device, players may move (“Blink”) one of their already placed Exosuits to a new action space instead of placing a new one, or immediately retrieve some of their Workers or Free Action markers. This can result in never-before-seen action efficiency, but just like the Time Rifts, the Flux technology is a double-edged sword. Without a sufficiently advanced Fracture device, overusing it can cause Temporal Glitches; hectic negative effects such as shutting down the Exosuit bay slots, temporarily disabling buildings, or making players more prone to Anomalies.

The Valley holds other secrets as well. The Operators’ advanced technology allows players to remove the Temporal Glitches, upgrade their classic Path tech with new quirks, and even enlist the Harvesters themselves as a powerful new class of Workers, who are immune to the Flux’s side effects.
